This is an expansion box for my 3d printed notions box.  With a slide on both the top and bottom, this expansion fits into the bottom tray of an existing box, and the lid slides right in on top.  Add as many extra layers as you like for all your storage needs!  Each box is 3D printed one at a time using PETG filament.  The box measures approximately 5.75" x 7.25" X 1.5".  Each expansion tray has 6 compartments for all your yarn adjacent tools.  The expansion tray has a magnet on the top and bottom, one to hold it in to your bottom section and one to hold your lid in place.

As a note--these are 3D printed, not injection molded.  As such, there will be signs visible of the printing process (lines, etc) on each box.  As a 3D printing plastic, PETG has a relatively low glass transition temperature of 80-100 degrees C [176-212F] .  To prevent warping, it's best to keep it away from direct sunlight or high heat.
